Sayed Salam Al-Qazwini

Founder and Director

A few sayings that have always inspired me from our Holy Personalities are; 'The best of people are those who help others' Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) 'The value of every man is in what he gives from himself' Imam Ali (AS) There was a period many years ago where I saw a movement in the youth towards taking part in dangerous and unhelpful practices so, in order to protect them from social, moral and religious deviation, I began holding weekly gatherings at my house for my son and people his age. We covered lessons such as learning to read and understand the Qur'an, Fiqh (Jurisprudence) and Aqaid (belief). These sessions helped build a strong bond between them as they were in a safe environment to also discuss their personal problems with each other. From then we created the Mowkib (Arabic for Group) called Shabab Al-Sibtayn. By the Grace of the Almighty (SWT) we have continued to this day in serving the community and I personally will do so until I am no longer able to.

Mohammed Al-Qazwini

Executive Committee and Founding Member

I have been part of SAS since it was established in 2006 and it has been an absolute honour to watch it evolve and grow over the years. The reward and joy you feel after serving the community is priceless. The community has given me so much and helped me grow, that it is my duty to give back in any small way I can. I have learnt so much from working with SAS including my personal and work life and inshaAllah it will help me in the hereafter too. I have developed strong friendship and bonds over the years as we serve with the brothers of our community which highlights the importance of a platfrom such as SAS. It has strengthened my relationships with my family members and colleagues too.

Muhammad Al-Khazraji

Executive Committee, Founding Member and Treasurer

I have been part of SAS before it was established as an organisation in 2006. It was a small Qur’an gathering between a few friends who met weekly. With pure intentions and dedication we were able to grow and serve Ahlulbayt (as) and the community through SAS. Alhamdulillah through serving I was able to meet many wonderful friends and develop bonds which are strong till today. These bonds have benefited the growth and strength of our community in various ways. Serving has always been a great privilege and honour. I am humbled and forever grateful to Allah (s.w.) for the opportunity that He gave me to be on this path, as only those who serve understand the true fruits of doing so. I pray that the growing generations will find a sound foundation in SAS for potential growth and the serving of our community under the banner of Ahlulbait (a.s.).

Munir Eljaouhari

Project Manager

Working with the community and organising events is something I've enjoyed doing for well over a decade now. Having started off coaching football for one of the local centres with the youth I started working with various Islamic charities organising other sports, educational and fun events and activities. I believe we should all give something back, utilising the skills that Allah (swt) gave to us, to the next generations and our own in any field that we can. Joining SAS was a real honour and it has given me deep respect and admiration for all those that organise such large scale programs on a regular basis.

Ghassan Modaffar

Head of Media and Team Leader

When I attended my first programme organised by Shabab Al-Sibtayn in 2016, I saw first-hand how they are run. This gave me an insight into SAS and the varying elements to what makes a programme successful, from getting the community together to spreading the noble message of the Ahlulbayt (as). From there on I got involved and this step was a pivotal one for myself as I had the opportunity to work with inspirational people from our community. Serving others is a gratifying experience which has taught me many lessons and I hope Shabab Al-Sibtayn becomes a source of encouragement and sense of belonging for Shia Muslims in London and beyond. I pray to Allah (swt) that this platform is used to breed confidence within the youth to uphold their religious values and sharpen their aim to serve the Imam (aj).

Ahmad Sultani

Team Leader

Volunteering with SAS in the last decade has been one of the best experiences and greatest accomplishments. I have had the chance to build lifelong friendships and had the opportunity to participate in exciting challenges. SAS is a family of individuals who strive to make a change in the NW London community and will strive to keep making those positive changes. I have learnt so much from working with SAS whether organising Islamic programs or social activities of day trips, sports and etc. These skills I have acquired from SAS have helped me in my personal and daily life and have been a great asset.

Mustafa Joda

Team Leader

I have been part of the Shabab Al-Sibtayn committee for 4 years now but have been attending their majalis for the past 10 years. It’s been a blessing to be part of this organisation which I always look up to with their sincere work in the service of Ahlulbayt (as). To me and to many of the youth SAS is not just a majalis organiser, it's in fact, a family! Sometimes in life Allah (SWT) & the Ahlulbayt (AS) want the best for you, so they present you opportunities to serve them and, Alhamdulilah, I have been blessed with the opportunity to do so via SAS.

Hassan Al-Hakeem

Team Leader

Growing up in the West, I really appreciated the events that Organisations such as Shabab Al Sibtayn hosted as they provided the traditional element of a ‘majlis’ in the language I spoke best. I felt that many from my generation could benefit from these as they were more engaging for us, and so I wanted to get involved in any way I could to ensure that there were always events that are tailored to the community’s needs. As a relatively new volunteer, I have had the chance to work with some of the most inspirational people and it has been a gratifying experience so far.
